Manage group permissions
When to use this procedure
Follow the steps below to assign the access level to secured items either by group (each item within a permission group) or by secured item (each item to one or more permission groups at a time).
Steps to complete
- On the Admin menu, point to Employee/Security and click Employee/Groups. The Employee/Group Administration window displays.
- Highlight the group for which you want to manage permissions.
- Click Properties below the Group grid. The Group Properties window displays.
- Revise the access level to each secured item (Full, None, Read-Only) as necessary. Read-Only is available for some, but not all, secured items.
- Click Save.
- If desired, use the navigation buttons below the grid to navigate to and revise permissions for additional groups, repeating steps 4 and 5 for each group.
- On the Admin menu, point to Employee/Security and click Employee/Groups. The Employee/Group Administration window displays.
- Click Permissions. The Group Permissions to Secured Items window displays.
- If desired select Control, Menu Bar, Process, or Report in the Display Secured Items of this Type box to reduce the secured items in the grid to only those of that type.
- Highlight a secured item in the grid.
- Use the table below for your next step.
Is the access level for all groups the same? Then... Yes Click the Full, None, or Read-Only button to assign that access level to the secured item to all groups. No Select an access level in the Access column in the Group grid for each group.
- Click Save.
